PEOPLE AND SOCIETY

Arts Council England was formed in 1994 as a government-funded body committed to promoting the performing, visual, and literary arts in the country. They are also responsible for developing and supporting museums.  Between 2012-215, the Council supported 16 single museums and consortia.

The Arts Council champions, develops, and invests in art experiences to make people’s lives richer by supporting activities in art galleries, museums, and libraries. Included in “the arts” are theater, digital arts, reading, dance, music, literature, crafts, and collections.
